1. Use Pokemon that are strong against the pokemon you are battling. Duhhhhh!!! Despite what the book says, the Dragon Pokemon can be beat. If you have to fight the Dragon Pokemon use Ice Pokemon/Ice Attacks. Also, keep in mind that Electric Pokemon have no effect on Ground Pokemon. You should try Water Pokemon with Ground Pokemon. Water Pokemon are also strong against Rock and Electric Pokemon. The "dig" attack is also very effective against ghost pokemon!!
2. Always look for people who are trading within the game. This is important because the traded pokemon get 150% the experience when battling. Some pokemon can only be captured by trading with other people. These include; Alakasam, Machamp, Golem, Farfetch'd, Gengar, Jinx, Mr. Mine, Lickitung. Also, some people will give away pokemon. Three generous dudes to look for are the Gym Leader of the Fighting Dojo in Saffron City and Eevee in Celadon City.
3. Look for hidden items with the "item finder". This can be found from Professor Oak's aid in the Gate House directly to the right of Vermilion City. Finding hidden items Rare Candy, X-accuracy, Protein, Iron, Carbos, Escape Ropes, Moon Stones (hard to find and cannot be bought), Elixirs, Ethers, HP Up, and PP Up.
4. Always have spare pokeballs. This is useful when coming up against rare pokemon such as Abra, Pikachu, Sandshrew, Clefairy, Jigglypuff, Magnemite, Cubone, Drowsee, Chansey, Electabuzz, Magmar, Dratini, and Dugtrio. There also exists EXTREMELY rare pokemon that include Snorlax, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Mewtwo.
5. Water pokemon such as Migikarp, Poliwag, Poliwhirl, Slowpoke, Slowbro, Tentacool, Crabby, Kingler, Horsea, Seadra, Goldeen, Seaking, Staryu, and Dratini can only be caught by fishing with different rods. The Old Rod will caputre Migikarp, Poliwag, and Tentacool. The Good Rod may catch Slowpoke, Crabby, and Horsea. The Super Rod can catch all pokemon listed above except Migikarp (because it sucks before it evolves into Gyarados).
6. Always "save" before entering the Safari Zone (located within Fuchsia City) because you can always restart if you don't find the pokemon that you're looking for AND prevent paying $500 per visit to the Safari Zone. Mewtwo only appears once during the game so be sure and save before fighting him. Also, save before fighting any of the Three Mystic Birds (Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres).
7. You can catch Kangaskhan and Tauros most easily in Area 3 of the Safari Zone. For Mewtwo and the Three Mystic Birds, look for them on Victory Road, The Unknown Dungeon, The Power Plant, and The Seafoam Islands.
8. In order to get into Saffron City, purchase Water from the sixth floor of the Department Store of Celdon City. Go to the fifth floor and go up the stairs to get to the rooftop (sixth floor).
9. By using TM's (technical machines), you may teach your pokemon special moves they wouldn't ordinarily learn. If you give the girl on the rooftop of the Department Store water, soda, and lemonade she will give you three TM's.
10. In order to catch all 150 pokemon, you must have two Gameboys, a Gameboy connector cable, both the Red and Blue Version of Pokemon. You can always trick the Pokedex?????????????
11. I like to use these pokemon
to battle the elite four. Zapdos, Muk, Dugtrio, Gengar, Articuno,
and the pokemon you started with!!!
IF YOU HAVE ANY ?? EMAIL ME
AT [email protected]
2. After you beat the Elite Four and the screen displays "The End", wait for a few seconds and press the "A" button and the game will restart. You will start at YOUR house in Pallet Town with all the money you received from beating the Elite Four and Gary. You can repeat this process to gain lots of cash!!! Also, you may advance your pokemon levels by fighting the Elite Four many times. Then, with this wealth, you may go to Celadon City normally to play the slots. But, instead of playing the slots, buy coins from the man at the front desk continuously. Then, go to the building to your right and trade the coins for RARE pokemon and TM's.
3. To find the Power Plant and Zapdos, go to Cerulean CIty and take Route 9 (directly to the right) to the river. Surf down the river with the surfing ability that you have gained from the Safari Zone. Eventually, you will come to a place you've never seen before (the Power Plant). Once you're inside, you'll notice pokeballs everywhere. Most have valuable items in it. Some items are Carbos, TM 33 (reflect), TM 25 (thunder), Rare Candy, and Hp Ups. But, some of them aren't pokeballs. They're Electric Pokemon called Voltorbs.
4. When you leave your pokemon in the daycare the pokemon in the daycare gains 1 EXP. for every step!! So get walking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
